Sustainability assessmentUniversity of OuluSustainability Assessment course is a 5 ECTS PhD course meant for doctoral students in different disciplines, especially in engineering, natural sciences, and business schools. Doctors, company personnel and final year MSc students can as well take part in the course. The course gives sustainability assessment skills to foster sustainable development (SD) and businesses in industrial sectors, with a special focus on raw materials supply chain and services. The PhD course's implementation is based on hybrid learning with on-campus activities and online sessions, allowing students to attend the course remotely. It benefits from collaborative teaching, and from inviting industry experts to illustrate case studies. The goal in the learning outcomes is that students are able to explain the concept of sustainability and sustainable development in all its dimensions with up-to-date knowledge, explain the general concepts, limitations and the potential of sustainability assessment, and more specifically the following tools:
