<p>The course is built around industry projects that student work on in interdisciplinary and international teams of roughly ten students, guided by an interdisciplinary teaching team. Students get to put their disciplinary specific skills to use in a product development context, while learning about other fields and the basics of the early phases of product development through practical work. The PDP projects start from initial design briefs from industry sponsors and develop solutions to the level of fully functional prototypes.</p><p>This course has been designed so that it can be taken at the same time as MEC-E3020 Methods in early product development. Students majoring in product development need to take the courses at the same time, unless they have already completed the previous MEC-E3002 course.</p>
